Losing patience and raising his voice: French journalists described Zelensky’s behavior with allies
04.10.2024 - 09:32The new NATO Secretary General, Mark Rutte, stated that “time is not on Ukraine’s side” in the ongoing war.
Rutte made this remark during his visit to Kyiv yesterday, according to “The Times”.
He told President Volodymyr Zelensky that NATO’s goal is to ensure Ukraine’s victory in the conflict.
“This is my priority and my privilege. But for Ukraine, time is not on its side,” Rutte said.
At the same press conference, Rutte also mentioned that the West is currently not ready to shoot down Russian missiles and drones over Ukraine.
To recall, on October 1, Jens Stoltenberg officially handed over the role of NATO Secretary General to Mark Rutte. Just two days later, on October 3, Rutte made his first visit to Kyiv in his new position. During his meeting with Zelensky, they discussed key issues of Ukraine-NATO cooperation and the next steps towards Ukraine’s membership in the Alliance.
