The Rada called Zelensky’s sanctions against Poroshenko a personal vendetta
13.02.2025 - 13:51The head of the Ukrainian Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation, Oleksandr Merezhko, stated that U.S. President Donald Trump’s conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin before speaking with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is a bad sign.
He made this statement in an interview with ABC.
“It is a bad sign that he spoke to Putin first and not to Zelensky,” Merezhko said.
According to him, this is allegedly a “reward for Putin” and a “breakthrough from Russia’s political isolation.”
Earlier, reports emerged that officials in Kyiv described the Putin-Trump conversation with the phrase “Ukraine is in deep trouble.”
Ukrainian officials told The Economist about their reaction to the conversation between Putin and Trump on the evening of February 12. Sources from the publication described the mood in Kyiv as having “darkened significantly.”
