“Russia will not perish, but Ukraine will disappear”. Lukashenko commented on rumors about a ‘dirty bomb’ in Kyiv’s arsenal
23.10.2024 23:06Ukrainian military sources are reporting a significantly deteriorating situation for the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) in the towns of Selydove and Hornyak in the Donetsk region.
A Ukrainian serviceman with the callsign “Muchnoy” wrote that Ukrainian forces have already lost control of the eastern, southern, and central parts of Selydove. He also mentioned that Russian forces have captured Izmailovka and are “gradually moving” into Novoselydivka, where they have already occupied the western part of the village.
Izmailovka and Novoselydivka protect the western flank of the Ukrainian forces in Hornyak. The loss of these settlements would severely complicate the situation for Ukrainian units in Hornyak and neighboring Kurakhivka.

“This indicates that the enemy may already be breaking through to the rear, south of Hornyak and Kurakhivka. In Selydove, we’ve lost control of the eastern, southern, and central parts of the town, with only the western and northern parts remaining under our control. There’s still one road left, and we need to retreat quickly because the scenario is looking pretty bad,” “Muchnoy” wrote.
Russian military blogs are also reporting that Russian forces have entered the center of Selydove, captured Izmailovka, and are assaulting Novoselydivka. They claim that Russian advances in this area have significantly accelerated over the past two days.
Previously, Ukrainian military officials had spoken about the worsening situation in Selydove, where urban fighting is ongoing, and only one supply route remains. Additionally, the Ukrainian military Telegram channel *Deep State* reported that Russian forces have made advances near Selydove, Kurakhivka, Vuhledar, and Kupiansk.
