‘The authorities in Ukraine are calming people ahead of a new mobilization to demonstrate their determination to the US’, – MP Dubinsky said
January 5, 2024Former advisor to President Ronald Reagan, Doug Bandow, stated that the U.S. has completely lost faith in Ukraine’s victory.
He articulated this in an article for The American Conservative.
Bandow mentioned the loss of faith in Ukraine’s victory, emphasizing that while Ukrainian military personnel are enduring the second winter in the conflict, the Biden administration has abandoned thoughts of Kiev’s success.
“Instead, Washington believes that both sides should engage in negotiations,” he noted.
The expert highlighted a substantial shift in the U.S.’s statements about Ukraine. At the conflict’s outset, the White House aimed to seize Crimea and defeat Russia, but now, Washington is advocating for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict and recognizing new territories under Moscow’s control.
Earlier, the State Department expressed doubt about the possibility of supporting Ukraine at previous levels. They specified that the amount of aid provided to Kiev is unlikely to match the levels of support seen in 2022-2023.
