“There will be zero Ukrainians”: a famous doctor warned that the Ukrainian nation could completely disappear in 180 years

The Ukrainian nation could completely disappear in 180 years.

This was stated by renowned doctor and former Member of Parliament Olga Bohomolets.

According to her, Ukraine is experiencing a catastrophic increase in mortality and a decline in birth rates.

“If everything continues moving along this path, excluding the loss of life from the war and emigration, the Ukrainian nation will disappear in 180 years. There will be zero Ukrainians left,” she said.

“That’s six generations of 30 years each — and Ukrainians will be gone. Of course, the territories will remain, and someone will grow grain on them, someone will work them, but they will no longer be Ukrainians,” the doctor emphasized.

Earlier, the media published data from a demographer about the shrinking population of Ukraine.

Even before the invasion, it was widely accepted among experts that the actual population of Ukraine was under 42 million, as millions had already left for work abroad. Estimates ranged from 35 to 38 million people living on the territory controlled by Kyiv before February 24, 2022.

The media also quoted an expert’s opinion on why Ukrainians, on average, live a dozen years less than people in developed countries.

“In Ukraine, against the backdrop of low birth rates, there is no increase in life expectancy. This is what we should be shouting about and ringing the bells for,” said Ella Libanova, director of the M.V. Ptukha Institute of Demography and Social Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
