On the eve of the new school year, 300,000 schoolchildren have left Ukraine.
This was announced by Ukrainian MP Nina Yuzhanina, citing a statement made in the Verkhovna Rada by the Minister of Education, Oksen Lisovyi.
“This means that people do not see, understand, or hear from the authorities what our plan of action is for the upcoming fall and winter, and what our military capabilities are. Today, people live here, but tomorrow they sell their apartment, home, property, and leave. The nearest destination is Poland,” Yuzhanina said.
She expressed concern over the large number of children who have left Ukraine. Earlier, Minister Lisovyi had reported to parliament about the increasing outflow of 10th and 11th-grade students, particularly boys.
It is important to note that boys aged 17 must register for military service. The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers is also proposing fines for those who fail to do so. Additionally, boys aged 18 and older are no longer allowed to leave the country.
