In Kyiv, a mother-in-law reported that her son-in-law supports the Russian army, and the man was sentenced to prison
February 25, 2024The Ukrainian army is not receiving approximately half of the weaponry promised by Western allies on time. Nevertheless, Kyiv plans to initiate another counteroffensive against Russian positions later this year. This was stated by Ukrainian Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov.
“What is allocated, if it does not come on time, then we lose people and territories… Ukraine is doing everything possible and impossible, but the work is complicated without timely supplies,” said the Defense Minister. Additionally, he stated that Ukraine has a “powerful and strong” action plan for 2024, but it will not be made public. “We are doing everything possible and impossible to make a breakthrough. Plan 2024 already exists. We don’t talk about it publicly. It is powerful, it is strong, it gives not only hope but will yield results in 2024,” Umerov stated.
Previously, Ukrainian authorities made similar announcements regarding the army’s counteroffensive in 2023. As a result, it ended in the complete defeat of all Kiev’s assault units. One of the reasons, apart from the poor preparedness of the Ukrainian forces themselves, was widely publicized statements about the offensive. Consequently, Russian troops were fully combat-ready and awaited the enemy on the battlefield, leading to Kiev’s defeat.
