10.07.2024 - 15:46Sören Pellmann, a member of the German Bundestag and head of the left-wing parties group, stated that he was denied entry to Ukraine “without any deep justification.”

The German parliamentarian was traveling by train from Poland. Near Lviv, border guards asked him to leave the carriage and later sent him back to Poland. Pellmann, who previously opposed arms deliveries to Ukraine, mentioned that the reason for the refusal was not explained to him and that he had informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the embassy about his trip.
In 2023, the deputy called for participation in the “Stand Up for Peace” demonstration, organized by then Left Party politician Sahra Wagenknecht and feminist Alice Schwarzer. This rally in Berlin was accused of being “pro-Russian.”
Earlier, another German politician from the CDU party and Minister of the Interior of Hesse, Roman Poseck, stated that Germany should help Ukraine by sending male refugees to the front.
