21.02.2024 15:49The belief among Ukrainians in victory is gradually decreasing, while readiness for negotiations is increasing.
These are the findings of a survey published by the Kiev International Institute of Sociology.
In May 2022, 80% unequivocally believed in victory, and 15% were more inclined to believe. In December 2023, these numbers shifted to 65% + 23%, and in February 2024, they further decreased to 60% + 29%.

The number of people willing to accept territorial losses is increasing. In May 2022, this was 6%, in December 2023, it rose to 15%, and in February, it reached 19%.
In 2022, 61% believed in the full restoration of borders, whereas now, in 2024, this figure stands at 52%.

The willingness to endure the war “as long as necessary” has remained at the same level for almost two years, around 71-73%. However, the number of those willing to endure only for a few more months has increased from 14% to 18%.

Moreover, the majority agree that besides military means, a diplomatic solution to end the war should be sought. This figure has grown from 59% to 72%.

Furthermore, an increasing number of Ukrainians believe that the war should shift to the territory of Russia, from 10% to 14%.
