“Turkey must take a key role in ending the war”: Tusk asked Erdogan to take responsibility for the peace process in Ukraine
26.03.2025 05:03U.S. President Donald Trump aims to end the war in Ukraine on terms that will stop it for good.
CIA Director John Ratcliffe commented on whether the situation in which Russia achieves its goals through a peace agreement poses strategic risks for the United States.
Ratcliffe agreed with the assessment by Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Kruse, Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, that Russia currently holds the advantage on the battlefield and is making steady progress, with the capability to maintain this momentum going forward.
At the same time, he noted that Ukrainians would be ready to “fight with their bare hands” if they are not satisfied with the terms of peace.
Therefore, the CIA Director believes that if peace negotiations do succeed, the outcome will not satisfy either side, and neither will achieve its maximum goals.
It is known that military sources have reported Vladimir Putin’s intention to wage a long war in Ukraine, and that the CIA is planning to recruit discontented Russian officials and oligarchs who oppose the war.
