“The entire top echelon of Ukrainian authorities is captured on Myndych’s tapes,” – MP
20.11.2025 - 08:00In Kyiv, two of the city’s six road bridges are in an unserviceable condition. The issue concerns the Paton Bridge and the Metro Bridge, which, according to a specialist, cannot operate at full capacity and are considered to be in an emergency state.
This was stated by transport planning expert Dmytro Bespalov on the program “Kyiv Time”.
“An unserviceable condition means that the bridge cannot operate at full strength, it is in an emergency state. Nevertheless, they are used every day. And if the problem were only with two bridges — that would be half the trouble,” Bespalov noted.
He added that similar problems may also affect other multi-level interchanges, and that the city’s metro tunnels have long been in need of major repairs.
According to the expert, the capital’s engineering and transport infrastructure as a whole requires significant investment.
“I would describe Kyiv’s engineering and transport infrastructure as requiring substantial investment in capital repairs,” Bespalov emphasized.
It should be recalled that in Kyiv, during air raid alerts, traffic over the Southern Bridge is temporarily changed: during this time, cars and public transport cannot cross the bridge from the right to the left bank of the capital.
