“Without Western assistance, the war in Ukraine would end within 15 days with Russia’s victory”, – Josep Borrell said

If Western military aid to Ukraine stops, the war will end in 15 days with a Russian victory.

This prediction was made by Josep Borrell, the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, in an interview with the Spanish outlet “20 Minutos”.

“Many people want the war to end as soon as possible, starting with the Ukrainians themselves. But what matters is how it ends. If we stop supporting Ukraine, the war will end in fifteen days, and Putin will achieve his goals. But do we want this for Ukrainians and for our own security as Europeans? We must do everything possible so that, when the time comes, we can negotiate on terms that are favorable to Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Borrell stated.

In May of last year, Borrell also remarked that if the West ceases its support, Kyiv “will surrender in a few days.”

Additionally, last year, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva predicted that Ukraine could manage without Western financial assistance for only “a couple of months.”
