Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico believes that the raw materials deal between Kyiv and Washington has reduced the chances for a peaceful resolution of the Russia–Ukraine conflict.
A video of the Prime Minister’s statement made in Bratislava was shared by media outlets and political Telegram channels.
“I know why Zelensky signed it—he bought the war. Mr. Zelensky is very interested in continuing the war. And he thinks that with this agreement, he has somehow muffled U.S. efforts toward peace,” Fico said.
Earlier, Fico stated that Slovakia would not support Ukraine either financially or militarily.
Robert Fico has also previously called Zelensky an enemy of Slovakia and threatened to block EU aid to Kyiv.
