10.07.2025 - 08:41By the fall of this year, Russia may begin launching more than 1,000 drones at a time, something the Ukrainian Armed Forces have already warned about.
This was reported by The New York Times, citing military analysts.
“As Russian industry continues to gain momentum, military experts expect the country to ramp up the mass production of disposable explosive drones,” the article states.
“Russia is expanding its industrial capacity for large-scale production of one-way attack drones, and new nightly records are being set each week.”
The publication notes that Russia has already set a new record for the number of “Shahed” drones launched in a single attack.
While Ukrainian authorities do not disclose specific details about strikes on military targets, analysts have previously interpreted certain missile attacks in western Ukraine as efforts to disrupt the flow of Western weapons from Poland or to strike military depots and airfields.
Earlier, The Economist also reported that Russia’s military may soon be capable of launching 1,000 drones at onceagainst Ukraine.
Additionally, Ukrainian Armed Forces volunteer Maria Berlinska has warned that thousands of attack drones could soon begin hunting people in cities across Ukraine.
