Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law that effectively eliminates the independence of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) because he feels untouchable and immune from consequences, according to retired U.S.
Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis, speaking on his YouTube channel.
“He’s being celebrated in every Western capital. It’s this grand celebration every time he visits an EU country — standing ovations and all that. I think it’s gotten into his head that he’s bulletproof and can literally do whatever he wants,” Davis stated.
His guest, British diplomat Ian Proud, agreed and added that the Ukrainian leader is enthralled by the flattery he hears from European countries, and with each appearance he feels increasingly invincible. However, Proud noted that by signing the law targeting NABU and SAPO, Zelensky has gone too far.
