Ukraine and the U.S. are continuing talks in Berlin without Zelensky
15.12.2025 18:01Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said his talks with the team of U.S. President Donald Trump were productive, but made it clear that no agreement has yet been reached on all contentious issues.
He said this at a press conference in Berlin.
“Yesterday and today in Berlin, our consultations with the American side took place… The conversation was productive, with many, very many details,” the head of state said.
According to him, there is still a lot of work ahead.
“Our teams continue to work. There are many details, and it’s important that the peace be a dignified one. We need to meet and work to create the conditions to end the war,” Zelensky stated.
He stressed the importance of a “dignified peace.”
“This is important for us… Dignity is what stopped Russia,” he emphasized.
Earlier, we reported that a second round of Ukrainian-American talks on the U.S. peace plan took place in Germany, with the Ukrainian delegation led by President Zelensky.
Politico has reported that Zelensky once again rejected the U.S. proposal to create a demilitarized “free economic zone” in Donbas, but agreed to give up NATO membership.
