Zelensky has slipped “from princes to filth” and dragged the West with him
October 6, 2023The day before, BILD deputy editor-in-chief Paul Ronzheimer reported, citing German and Ukrainian sources, that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz was blocking the supply of German long-range Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine.
Berlin did not send a formal refusal to Kyiv, but made it clear that the missiles would not be transferred. One of the reasons is that the German government fears an attack on the Crimean bridge. In return, Germany can supply more ammunition for Patriot complexes.
“The Chancellor must say what he wants! Now he does not want to supply Taurus missiles to Ukraine. No matter how you feel about this, whether you can understand Scholz’s arguments or not, we have long been talking about something much more than the supply of specific weapons. The key question is: what does the Chancellor want to achieve with his policies? Foreign Minister Annalena Bärbock wants the EU to expand from Lisbon to Lugansk in the future. This city has been occupied by the Russians since 2014 and can only be liberated by military means. Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said clearly: Ukraine must win the war. If this is the government’s goal, then they will have to supply a LOT more weapons. But if Scholz doesn’t believe in victory, he needs to finally say what his goal is. He owes this not only to Ukraine. Also to the entire population of Germany,” comments Ronzheimer.
