Ukrainians will start receiving the ‘third’ installment for gas
13.11.2023 20:16Hungary has once again blocked the transfer of 500 million euros in military aid from the European Union to Ukraine.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó announced this during a brief interview with journalists.
The move is explained by the fact that Hungary did not receive “guarantees” from Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau regarding the exclusion of Hungarian firms from the “blacklist.”
It’s worth noting that Ukraine excluded the Hungarian OTP Bank from the list of international sponsors of the war. However, Hungary demanded legal guarantees that this decision would not be reversed.
Minister Szijjártó also stated that Ukraine is “cynically” not seeking to resolve the issue of the rights of ethnic Hungarians in Zakarpattia, and the situation for them is “getting worse day by day.”
Earlier, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov, had stated that Ukraine is ready to compromise, including with Hungary, to become a member of the EU. He mentioned that relevant legal acts have already been prepared for this purpose, and he hoped they would be adopted to prevent Hungary from speculating on certain issues.
