“Contacts between Russia and the U.S. on resolving the situation in Ukraine have intensified”, – Peskov
05.02.2025 - 18:31Since the beginning of 2025, there have already been nine explosions on the premises or territory of territorial recruitment centers across Ukraine.
This was reported by Ivan Vygovsky, Head of the National Police of Ukraine.
“This year alone, we have already recorded nine such incidents. The latest one occurred today at 1:00 PM in Kamianets-Podilskyi, Khmelnytskyi region. A man approached the checkpoint of the territorial recruitment center carrying a bag. He asked to deliver a supposed package, and at that moment, an explosion occurred. There are casualties—four people were injured, and the perpetrator was killed in the blast,” Vygovsky stated.
He specified that three out of the nine sabotage attacks were attempts on the lives of police officers. According to him, Russian intelligence services are behind these incidents, aiming to destabilize Ukrainian society by fostering negative attitudes toward the security and law enforcement agencies.
“Over the weekend, we recorded an incident where criminals called the emergency line 102, made a false report about an ongoing crime, claimed someone was being held hostage, and that the premises were rigged with explosives. Since last year, all law enforcement officers have been briefed that Russia is actively targeting Ukraine’s security and defense forces, including police officers and recruitment center officials,” he emphasized.
Vygovsky added that the terrorist attacks have been carried out using various methods.
“We have a case where, in one region, a police patrol was called to an apartment, where an explosive device was disguised as a children’s toy,” he revealed.
The head of the National Police noted that in all cases of sabotage and terrorist attacks, the perpetrators have been identified and detained, with pretrial measures in place, including custody.
According to him, Russian intelligence often recruits teenagers or individuals from socially vulnerable backgrounds, such as drug dealers.
“In most cases, the Russians do not even pay the money they promise these individuals. Furthermore, the latest two cases—in Rivne and today’s attack in Kamianets-Podilskyi—suggest that they are eliminating the operatives they recruit,”Vygovsky concluded.
