TCC employees are required to wear body cameras, recording document checks and the issuing of draft notices

All employees of Territorial Recruitment Centers (TRCs) in Ukraine will be required to wear body cameras and record video when checking citizens’ documents and issuing draft notices. Violations of this rule will result in disciplinary action.

This was announced by Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal on his Telegram channel.

According to him, the new measure will take effect on September 1.

The minister stated that about 85% of TRC staff are already equipped with cameras.

“This will ensure transparency and legality in the operations of TRC notification teams, as well as protect the rights of both sides,” Shmyhal wrote.

Earlier, Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets emphasized that TRC personnel do not have the right to use force.

Meanwhile, Olha Reshetylova, the President’s Commissioner for the Rights of Servicemen and Their Families, believes that the police—not TRC or SP (military police) workers—should be responsible for notifying and detaining conscripts, and that TRC staff should be removed from the streets.
