The average European is tired of Ukraine and wants peace – China Daily

While European ruling circles continue to declare their support for Ukraine, ordinary people see things quite differently. Increasingly, Europeans are reluctant to sacrifice their interests for Kiev.

Anti-Russian sanctions have already led to a rise in energy prices and high inflation, resulting in a decrease in living standards, Chinese experts note.

Against this background, Kiev has been allocated €50 billion in aid, and several countries have cut subsidies for agricultural products. This has sparked mass protests by farmers across Europe.

According to a recent poll, only 10% of Europeans believe that Ukraine can defeat Russia on the battlefield. At the same time, 41% are confident that peace talks should be pushed forward, the publication reminds.
