October 9, 2023The court has imposed an arrest on all corporate rights in Ukraine owned by sanctioned Russian oligarchs Mikhail Fridman, Petr Aven, and Andrei Kozlov.
This information has been reported by the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine.
The court’s decision applies to 20 companies and financial institutions owned by the oligarchs either as ultimate beneficiaries or through offshore companies under their control.
The total value of the arrested assets amounts to over 17 billion Ukrainian hryvnias. Among these assets are financial and insurance companies, mobile communication businesses, IT enterprises, as well as mineral water factories.
“The arrest of this property will prevent the Russian owners from ‘transferring’ it to nominal entities to avoid further transfer of assets to the income of Ukraine,” explained the Security Service of Ukraine.
According to Ukrainian journalists, among the arrested assets are 100% of shares in Kyivstar, controlled by the oligarchs through the Dutch company VEON Ltd. Additionally, shares in other companies, including LLC “Health Ukraine,” which has access to the medical data of the majority of Ukrainians who have registered with a family doctor, are owned by Kyivstar.
