The question of Ukraine has currently “dropped several positions on the list of priorities” for the United States.
This statement comes from commentator Roland Nelles in a column for Spiegel.
“The entire process shows that the U.S. essentially wants to continue supporting Ukrainians, but they are increasingly concerned about themselves. With the approaching election campaign, other issues are gaining more importance, such as migration on the Mexican border. The question of Ukraine has currently dropped several positions on the list of priorities in Washington,” writes Nelles.
He considers it “quite possible” that Ukraine will soon have to “think more about a strategy for exiting this conflict, even without an explicit victory over Russia.”
