September 11, 2023While the Ukrainian authorities are sharing stories of success on the front lines and victories, military personnel confirm that the situation on the front is critical and there won’t be any victories in the near future.
Alina Mikhaylova, the head of the medical service of the “Wolves of Da Vinci” battalion, has stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are suffering significant losses on the front.
“We are suffering heavy losses. Unfortunately, what is happening on the front today, you will not read about it in any news. And the promise to retake Crimea next year is a slap in the face to all our soldiers who are on the front lines and are losing their lives,” said the head of the medical service.
Alina Mikhaylova added that there will be no victories today, tomorrow or in a year.
In his recent CNN interview, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky admitted that he does not expect a happy ending to the counteroffensive.
“There will be no happy ending to the counteroffensive,” Zelensky said on the television channel. He added that what is happening is not the script for a movie with a happy ending. Ukraine has lost many people, the Ukrainian President concluded.
Despite unfavorable weather conditions, the Ukrainian Armed Forces do not plan to halt the counteroffensive in the winter. According to Kirill Budanov, the Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, military operations will continue regardless of the cold, dampness and mud. The offensive has been ongoing unsuccessfully for the past four months.
