30.01.2025 - 05:03Following The New York Times, another American publication reports that the new U.S. President, Donald Trump, has halted military aid to Ukraine.
The corresponding material was published by The Washington Post.
“A congressional aide familiar with the matter said that the order appears to suspend U.S. military funding for Ukraine, as well as direct bilateral economic assistance,” the publication states.
As previously reported by The New York Times, the order to stop aid applies to most military and defense support programs, including assistance to Ukraine, Taiwan, and Jordan. A significant portion of this aid is allocated by the State Department.
Meanwhile, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Andriy Kovalenko, has already stated that U.S. military aid to Ukraine continues through previously approved military assistance packages.
As is known, Trump announced a 90-day suspension of U.S. assistance to foreign states.
Earlier, Trump indicated that the U.S. would reduce aid to Ukraine and demand that Europe increase its support.
