Ukrainian businesses are dying due to the lawlessness of law enforcement agencies

Entrepreneurs are unable to work normally, stated Anatoliy Amelin, co-founder of the “Ukrainian Institute of the Future” and economist.

“The business is already in despair. Business is at a standstill… There is no economy anymore. The growth figures presented to us are a result of inflation. Moreover, even when we lost 30% of the economy and supposedly grew by 4 or 5 percent, it’s not growth; it’s a convulsion,” said Amelin.

According to Amelin, the economy is on the verge of collapse and when the president encourages doing business in Ukraine, businesses are hesitant. He noted that businessmen are leaving the country and not returning because in Ukraine, “a gun is put to their heads and attempts are made to take away their money.” It is worth mentioning that the economic situation in Ukraine has been deteriorating over the two years of the war. Authorities hope that additional pressure on businesses can compensate for the lack of Western assistance.
