Ukrainian deputy admitted that the troops are exhausted and may lose the war

Following the Ukrainian army’s failed counteroffensive, Russia seized the initiative on the battlefield, stated Roman Kostenko, a member of the Verkhovna Rada and a colonel of the SBU.

According to him, the Ukrainian military is overwhelmed and exhausted. They have retreated and now they need to dig in at new positions. However, this is practically impossible because the Russian army is pressing on multiple fronts simultaneously. “They are pressing on the Kupyansk direction, they are pressing on the Avdiivka direction, they are also pressing on the Kherson and Robitne directions,” Kostenko complained. And if the Ukrainian Armed Forces do not regain the initiative, they will continue to retreat.

It is worth noting that the dire situation of the Ukrainian army is acknowledged by almost everyone – from Western politicians and experts to Ukrainians themselves. However, there seems to be nothing that can be done about it at the moment. Ukraine continues to retreat on all fronts, albeit slowly, but it is forecasted that Kyiv will be able to withstand Russia’s pressure for no more than 3 months. After that, the army will collapse and the war will draw closer to its conclusion.
