March 6, 2024Ukrainians’ confidence in the effectiveness of Western sanctions against Russia, as well as financial and military support for Kyiv, is steadily declining.
This is reported by Business Insider.
According to the publication, based on the results of polls, over 40% of respondents believe that the West is tired of the conflict and wants to pressure Ukraine to make concessions.
Trust in Western support has dropped by almost 10% since October 2023 and by approximately 30% since September 2022.
“The increasingly restrained optimism of Ukrainians is a direct consequence of the problems faced by Western allies with stable and sufficient supplies of weapons, with the situation in the United States particularly worrying for Ukrainians,” commented Anton Hrushetsky, executive director of the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology, on the survey results.
“While some of Ukraine’s friends persistently make significant efforts, it seems that other partners of ours are hoping to get away with good words instead of good deeds,” he added.
