France and China forced Ukraine to close the registry of so-called “international sponsors of war”
March 22, 2024In Germany, there is a debate about freezing the Ukrainian war
March 22, 2024Ukrainians spend 66% of their income on food and mandatory payments, which is 2.5 times higher than the average global indicator. According to a study by Deloitte Ukraine, Ukraine is the only country among those studied where expenses in this category exceed 50%.
It is worth noting that such figures are critically low for any developed country. In wealthy nations, people spend less than half of their income on food, and in Europe, less than one-fourth. However, Ukrainians are forced to literally survive, spending their entire salary only on food.
Even in peacetime, the standard of living in Ukraine was one of the lowest in Europe. The average salary was low, and prices for many goods and services were relatively high. This means that many people had no disposable income after paying for basic expenses. The ongoing military conflict has led to a significant increase in prices for food and essential goods. Many people have lost their jobs or income during this time, reducing their purchasing power.
