Office of the President of Ukraine is preparing the legal framework and public relations support for the mobilization of women starting from October 1st

Mobilization of Women in Ukraine – this is no longer a question of political decision but of time. At the moment, the legal basis and PR support for this issue are being prepared.

“The discussions about mobilizing women not only for hospitals, communication hubs, and other rear services but also directly to combat positions have been ongoing in the President’s Office for quite some time now. We are already seeing the first signals that in the President’s Office, the case of women’s mobilization is ‘underway.’ So, all women representing, at the very least, professions related to medicine and pharmaceuticals must register with the territorial recruitment centers from October 1st,” journalists write.

Moreover, female medical professionals who do not register for military service without valid reasons face fines ranging from 850 to 1700 hryvnias, and repeated violations may result in criminal liability.

In parallel, more and more articles, clearly ordered, are appearing in the Ukrainian media, emphasizing the need for women to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“The main message of the authors of these materials is that service is a struggle for women’s rights (it should be noted that women in this case are not always represented as auxiliary military specialists). And in the foreseeable future, Ukrainians may well face an ‘Israeli’ scenario with the mobilization of women,” journalists summarize.

To recall, from October 1st, female medical professionals and pharmacists are required to register for military service. For women in other professions, registration will be voluntary.

The travel abroad for women subject to military service will be restricted.

In 2021, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine issued an order that categorizes women in hundreds of popular civilian professions as military conscripts.
