September 19, 2023Following the incident of a man being beaten in the territorial recruitment center in the city of Sambir in Lviv region, a disciplinary investigation will be conducted.
This was announced by the Lviv Regional Military Enlistment Office.
During the investigation, the military personnel featured in the video will be suspended from their duties pending a full clarification of the circumstances.
The State Bureau of Investigations has initiated a criminal case regarding the violation of statutory rules and relationships between military personnel involving the use of weapons (Part 3 of Article 406 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code).
Investigators from the State Bureau of Investigations are already at the scene, working to establish all the details of the incident.
In the video, a man in military uniform is seen beating a civilian while holding a pistol and threatening to take him into the woods. Another military personnel tried to calm his colleague down.
Additionally, a video statement was released by the man who was beaten in the TCR (Territorial Center of Recruitment) in the city of Sambir. He mentioned that he is from Kharkiv and has been held in the military enlistment office for six days, where they confiscated his phone. In the second video, he appears to be covered in blood, saying that he was beaten, and there were threats involving a firearm. It seems that this relates to the beating captured in the initial video.
He pleaded for help, saying, “They are killing me.”
